Bathe your baby in plain warm water. You can add some oatmeal to it to heal soothe rash. Dry baby’s bottom with hair dryer set on lowest setting. Alternatively, gently pat the bottom with a soft towel.

Be sure to give your baby diaper-free air time. This is an important healing aid.

Avoid using commercial baby-wipes due to the alcohol in them which irritates skin.

After diaper change, dry the area thoroughly after cleaning giving some air time again.

* Olive oil has been used for hundreds of years for all different kinds of conditions. Simply whisk a tablespoon of olive oil with 3 drops of water until it forms a creamy texture. Apply to baby’s clean, dry bottom.

* Gotu kola can used topically to speed healing. Use cooled tea or cream containing gotu kola.

* Comfrey also soothes and heals delicate skin. Again, cooled tea can be helpful.

* Lavender essential oil is excellent for soothing skin especially delicate skin. A couple of drops mixed in with a couple of tablespoons of some lotion should do the trick.

* Marigold is another of the excellent home remedies for diaper rash. Look for products containing topical applications in health food stores.

* Tea tree essential oil is also especially useful for skin health. Many stores sell creams with tea tree oil. Look for product that has few ingredients, all natural and no alcohol.

* Calendula cream is antibacterial prevents infection, speeds healing. Here too, many stores sell creams containing calendula. Look for product that has few ingredients, all natural and no alcohol.

* No surprise that chamomile tea, so soothing to stomach also helps relieve irritation and inflammation of skin.

* Plaintain: Simply get some fresh leaves, crush well and put in dry diaper. This should really help soothe irritation and promote healing.
