* Licorice (Glycyrrhizin), applied as part of a gel, has been shown to improve symptoms of rosacea. A study showed that a gel, containing 2% glycyrrhizinic acid, improved erythema, edema, and itching over the 2-week treatment period. * Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) contains a component termed, parthenolide, which inhibits inflammation, characteristic of rosacea. Take as a tea, several times a day and apply cooled tea bags on affected areas. For supplements, take as directed. * Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) also reduces inflammation and is a powerful antioxidant. Take as you would feverfew tea applying cooled tea bag to infected areas. * Oatmeal is a great skin moisturizer which helps relieve itch due to dry skin. Oatmeal is also a great skin protectant. I suppose eating it can’t hurt but its benefits are better conferred by taking an oatmeal bath or applying oatmeal poultices to affected areas.
