In what constitutes the longest running field studies, our ancestors from around the world have been using herbal remedies to prevent & cure disease and to optimize health. Like present day researchers, we guess that connections were made between herbs and effects. That herb knowledge was passed down to future generations. Certainly this occurred the world over. Specific regions had access to specific herbs and so became expert at understanding and using those herbs. Then as peoples moved from continent to continent and back again, so too did herbs become dispersed around the world. Still, certain locales had access to, knowledge of and greater use for specific herbs whether those herbs were native to the locales or not. So, we still often speak of Chinese herbs or African herbs and so forth. Healthy Remedies World is compiling, if slowly, the regional flavor of herbology.
