Do not take if pregnant, nursing, have hear disease or ulcers.Ginkgo biloba is also one of the better fibromyalgia herbs due to ability to relieve inflammation. Take 50 - 200 mgs per day. Cayenne contains capsaicin which relieves pain mostly due to the heat in the peppers and so is an excellent herbal remedy for fibromyalgia. Buy a creams containing capsaicin or simply add some pureed pepper to any natural lotion. Apply to affected areas. Use common sense if making your own fibromyalgia cream. Add pepper puree as needed & do not rub onto nose, mouth or eyes. Clean hands after handling cayenne. St John’s wort can ease depression & relieve insomnia that’s common in fibromyalgia & so is one of the important fibromyalgia remedies. Take as needed, up to 1 gram of extract per day in 3 divided doses. Do not take if you are already taking antidepressants. Also note that St. John’s wort can increase sensitivity to sun exposure. Grapeseed extract is also an effective herbal remedy for fibromyalgis because it reduces inflammation. Take between 50 - 300 mgs per day. White willow bark is another anti-inflammatory.take up to 2.5 gms divided into 3 - 4 doses or drink 3 cups of white willow bark tea a day. There are also a number of foods that may serve as fibromyalgia remedies. Eat liberally & often. * Barley * Buckwheat * Canola oil * Olive oil * All types of fish * Fruit (except citrus) * Legumes * Millet * Oats * Fresh vegetables A disclaimer: I don’t believe there is such a thing as “fibromyalgia.” The pains are real, patients’ suffering is real, someTHING(s) is happening. But that someThing has been given a category that doesn’t advance our understanding or treatment. I believe that persons diagnosed with fibromyalgia are actually suffering from a few disorders with shifting symptoms. Perhaps, a large aspect of the suffering includes an emotional component, part of the reasons why symptoms appear to be vague & shifting. My advice is to treat the “symptoms” as THE disorders.
