Many pages in Herbal Remedies World contain information on herbs that can be used as teas but this page collects some common types & specifically discusses benefits of herb teas.

The following herbs can be prepared the way most teas are.

Use 1 - 2 tsps of plant to a cup of hot water. For root teas, steep longer, between 10 - 20 minutes. For leaf teas, 3 minutes should be enough.

Test steeping times for certain teas until you are happy with the result. But remember that you must steep at least a few minutes to help release the specific health benefits of herbal tea.

(It is also impossible to know how potent teas will be. For some conditions, there may not be enough potency in herbal tea to address condition. For example, though St.-John's Wort relieves mood disorders, the tea version may not be potent enough to remedy problem. However, teas for stomach upsets work quite well.)
