Of the many herbal remedies discussed in HRW, apple cider vinegar has me really excited. Following is a list of ailments that ACV, taken as an herb, benefits.

ARTHRITIS: Just massage problem areas with a mixture of 2 egg whites, ½ cup apple cider vinegar & ¼ cup olive oil. You can also drink apple cider vinegar, 2 or 3 teaspoons in a glass of water before meals.

ASTHMA is one of the issues that succumbs to apple cider vinegar benefits. Just a few tsps of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water has helped many people. Also, you can apply a compress soaked in vinegar to the inside of the wrists.

BLOOD PRESSURE: With so many people struggling with hypertension, this is one of the more important apple cider vinegar benefits. Apple cider vinegar remedies blood pressure if taken consistently. Drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with a tablespoon of honey in a glass of water 2x daily. The potassium in ACV and honey helps balance sodium which helps maintain blood pressure. The magnesium in apple cider vinegar also relaxes blood vessels which lowers blood pressure.

BONES: The minerals in apple cider vinegar are especially good for maintaining bone mass especially if osteoporosis is an issue. Take an ACV and water mixture 2 - 3 x daily.

CANCER: Apple cider vinegar benefits may extend to many types of cancers. The important anti-cancer nutrients include beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant, flavonoids and polyphenols that are thought to protect against cancer. The pectin in apples, a soluble fiber, also protects against colon cancer. Take an ACV tonic with a little raw honey for best results.

CHOLESTEROL: The water soluble fiber pectin in apple cider vinegar helps absorb fats and cholesterol and speed their elimination.

COLDS: Apple cider vinegar remedies colds à just a tsp of ACVin half a cup of water 3 - 4x at the first sign of a cold may prevent full blown symptoms. For a chest cold, soak a piece of brown paper in apple cider vinegar, sprinkle one side of it with black pepper and place the peppered side of the paper on the chest, cover with a towel, and relax for 20 minutes.

CONSTIPATION: Increasing fiber in your diet is one of the most used herbal remedies for constipation. Have a few ACV tonics daily.

COUGHS: Take apple cider vinegar tonic at the first sign of a cough. You could also sprinkle apple cider vinegar on a cloth placed on a pillow.

DIABETES: Take a daily tonic of apple cider vinegar for its fiber content and other ingredients, which are good for controlling sugar levels.

DIARRHEA: The pectin in ACV, which is the water soluble fiber, helps absorb water in the intestines and provide more bulk for the stool. This helps firm stools. Increasing fiber intake & taking a few doses of apple cider vinegar should do the trick.

DIGESTION: Aging leads to less stomach acid which can lead to digestive problems. Taking an ACV tonic before meals can really help ease digestion.

FATIGUE: The potassium & enzymes in apple cider vinegar tonic may also fight fatigue. Drink a few glasses of tonic, raw honey optional but helpful.

FLATULENCE: Soaking beans in apple cider vinegar before cooking them may help ease gas that often follows.

GOUT: Many people swear by apple cider vinegar as a gout cure. You can take apple cider vinegar tonic or applying it to problem areas.

HEADACHES: Headaches may result from acid-alkaline imbalances. Apple cider vinegar helps corrects those imbalances and so is good for these types of headaches.

HICCUPS: This is just another example of the versatility of apple cider vinegar. Just sip a glass of warm water with one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

INSOMNIA: The use of honey and apple cider vinegar at night has caught on even among doctors. Take an ACV tonic right before bed.

LEG CRAMPS: Another of the important apple cider vinegar benefits, the calcium and magnesium in ACV protect against painful leg cramps. Another reason to take a tonic right before bedtime.

MENSTRUAL PROBLEMS can be eased with glass of apple cider tonic in the morning. ACV is supposed to help reduce the flow of a heavy period.

MORNING SICKNESS can also be eased by drinking an apple cider tonic first thing in the morning.

SINUSITIS can be helped if an apple cider vinegar tonic every hour for 6 to 8 hours. Sinus headache ca be relieved by adding an eight of a cup of ACV to a cool-air vaporizer and inhaling the infused-air directly for 5 minutes.

SORE THROAT: Gargle with a mixture of 1 tsp of ACV in ½ cup of water, using 3 mouthfuls of mixture each hour. Remember not to swallow the gargled mixture, because ACV acts like a sponge that draws out germs and toxins.

ULCERS: A study in Japan suggested that taking a weak apple cider vinegar remedies can give over 95% protection from alcohol-induced ulcers.

URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS: Taking a daily tonic of apple cider vinegar keeps the right pH balance in the urinary tract and this helps ward off bacteria and infections.

WEIGHT LOSS is one of the extremely valuable apple cider vinegar benefits. One doctor reports that an overweight person could lose weight gradually by taking 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water at each meal. The one caution is that you must avoid high fat foods.
