Apple cider vinegar for acid reflux

The benefits of apple cider vinegar on acid reflux follows, including dose and best times to take. Click to go from apple cider vinegar for acid reflux to home There are many possible reasons for why this liquid herb benefits, if not cures, acid reflux.

However, I haven’t run into any large scale, validated study proving that apple cider vinegar cures acid reflux. Chances are, there wont be any coming soon unless ACV can be patented and prescribed by doctors.

There are however, numerous testimonials on using apple cider vinegar for acid reflux and many other gastric problems. A few are excerpted immediately following (with some editing).

Testimonials on apple cider vinegar for acid reflex

1) It works. Taking Apple Cider Vinegar for acid reflux disease worked. Try it out. It also worked very quickly on my heartburn and the longer it’s used, the more effective it is. My husband has also found that it works great for chronic sinusitis, asthma and allergies. We use 3 teaspoons in a cup of warm water, 3 times daily.

2) It’s been great for my Tummy Problems. Apple Cider Vinegar has been great for one of two things. If you think you have been exposed to a bad food and are coming down with food poisoning, take two tablespoons and it will balance the toxins. It is also good for stomach viruses (tummy bugs) but you have to catch them EARLY enough, and I mean really EARLY. If you are already at the point of vomiting or having diarrhea, DON'T drink this. It could make it worse,

3) Taking apple cider vinegar for acid reflux worked like magic. Three days ago I started using organic apple cider vinegar, putting 1 tsp in a glass of water and drinking it one half hour before each meal. So far, my acid reflux is gone!

Prior to taking this fantastic solution, I took Prevacid for many years. Yes, it took care of my acid reflux problem but with it came many bad side effects.

Now, I feel great. It almost seems too good to be true. I don’t know what the correct amount of ACV should be. I am using one teaspoon before each meal but it is suggested that you use one or two tablespoons. Kurt

4) Since I was a kid, I’ve had stomach troubles. I didn’t develop acid reflux until I was between 35-40. I remember that I was watching a "Tums" commercial with another friend, and he said, "Does anyone actually take that stuff." I told him that I take it every night and he said, "If I get a stomach ache, then its my own fault." He meant that the problem was his diet.

Well, (pardon the pun) that was food for thought. I never really considered changing my diet, at least not too much. My doctors didn’t really push it either.

I actually got cured of acid reflux before nexium type came out.

I was seeing a Chiropractor in New Jersey, for chronic fatigue. He helped me with my acid reflux, & my hypertension. He got me off of 3 out of 4 medications I was taking. He helped cure the acid reflux with diet and probiotics supplements.

I didn’t think that my diet lowered my energy level. The author of the book "The Maker's Diet" makes a great probiotic. The cheapest price I have found is on Dr. Mercola's site (mercola.com). The diet the Chiropractor outlined for me was high in protein and vegetables with only 50 mg of carbs per meal. What really hurts though is the no sugar rule. Ouch!

I occasionally get a bout of acid reflux, about 4-5 times a year. It usually happens after I hit McDonalds or something. Kevin Trudeau mentioned on his infomercial, that 1 teaspoon of vinegar will relieve acid reflux. Well, I went and I tried it and it worked great.

He said that, acid reflux comes from not enough acid in your stomach to digest your food properly. The vinegar (common white vinegar, not apple cider vinegar) is very acidic. So, you actually add acid to your stomach to ease it. I only use it as needed. Results were quick and the very best I have ever experienced.

5) I started drinking Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar about a month ago and it has greatly reduced my acid reflux. I’m not taking any prescription drugs for my reflux. Before I started taking apple cider vinegar, I was taking Prilosec daily, sometimes two times, plus extra Rolaids or Tums. Over the past month, I only taken Rolaids once! I have to admit that I was doubtful at first because I had taken meds for so long for my acid reflux. I am thrilled I found apple cider vinegar. I take 2 teaspoons, 2 to 3 times daily. I usually take it 2 times a day because of work. You may need to give it a few days before you give up. Like other herb benefits, it takes a little time to see results.

Why apple cider vinegar benefits acid reflux

* The acetic acid in the ACV helps neutralize the stronger hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

* The various parts of apple cider vinegar maintains the stomach acid at a high enough level that can still digest foods but too low to cause gastric problems.

* The lower esophageal sphincter opens up when not enough acid is present such as is the case for people who produce to little hydrochloric acid. The acid supplied by the ACV is just enough to keep the lower sphincter valve working correctly.

* Apple cider vinegar aids acid reflux due to its wonderful mineral content which helps to neutralize harsh stomach acids.

Taking apple cider vinegar for acid reflux

Take 2 - 3 times daily, preferably before meals. Just put 2 - 3 tsps of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Add some raw honey to taste. In fact, if you add raw honey, the honey itself may help ease the acid reflux.

Don't just use the typical supermarket bought ACV. Get organic apple cider vinegar with the cloudyish sediment called the "mother". The healing properties are mostly in that sediment. Be sure to shake it up before each use. Keep the apple cider vinegar in a dark, cool place. I refrigerate my bottle just in case.

Herb benefits sometimes take a few weeks to start to work. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist even after taking apple cider vinegar acid reflux over a few weeks.
