Top antiaging herbs
Best antiaging herbs are discussed below. Even before citing a single herbal remedy for anti aging, a few frank words on antiaging.
When it comes to antiaging, I have bad news and good news. First the bad. There’s no such thing as antiaging. Come on, how could it be possible to reverse aging? That is, antiaging. It’s not even possible to stop aging much less reverse it. The word, antiaging, is essentially a come on, an ad, really, a dream or fantasy that helps sell stuff: supplements, drinks, workout plans, creams, books, TV programs, on and on. Hey, would those things sell so well if they were more aptly named, “age slower downers?” Of course not. Now the good news. You can radically slow down the many processes of aging. One way is to use anti aging herbs. If you’re over 50, like me, well, I’m not going back to the slimness and tautness of 25, i.e. a 30 inch waist, veins mapping my biceps no matter how many antiaging herbs I devour but, 40 is possible ie a 32 inch waist, rounded biceps, you know, such that young kids might say, “you’re not bad … for 50.” I’ll take it. Here’s the way I think of antiaging. I use it to mean that, at whatever age you are, you come as close as you can to your physical, psychological, intellectual potential. You slow down aging by staying as close as you can to your present potential. For some people, that might mean that they could sprint faster at 50 than at 20. But, that’s if they were out of shape at twenty and fit at fifty. If they were in shape at 20, they would never be able to run faster at 50. But for most of us, with some concessions to age, we just strive for the best, the youngest we can be at whatever age we find ourselves in. That means, we could still be playing tennis at 60, running at 70, playing 18 holes at 80. Why not? Well, how do antiaging herbs fit in here? Generally, an herbal remedy is taken to correct some condition, maybe prevent others. What we refer to as antiaging herbs may not necessarily address particular health conditions. Rather, they slow down typical signs of aging and extend quality life span. That would qualify any herb, any healthy plant food, as antiaging herbs in some respects. But the herbal remedies for aging we are particularly interested in herbs that can be taken over long periods of time and improve functioning of one or more physical systems. Antiaging herbs are so designated if their use seems to contribute to people’s living longer, living better. We also emphasize herbs that are really foods, plant foods, that can be consumed as part of a healthy diet. That means that, while some herbs are preferably taken as supplements, supplements themselves are essentially de-emphasized. Let’s start with a few herbs can be enjoyed as part of our diets, herbs that taste great, are easy to incorporate in most diets and lend us many benefits. They are products that don’t need to be taken as supplements and provide us with some specific benefits and many general benefits throughout our lifetimes. * APPLE CIDER VINEGAR would seem to be a good starting point when discussing herbal remedies for anti aging. Its proponents claim all kinds of benefits to taking ACV. Taken internally it’s believed to address arthritis, asthma, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, ulcers, obesity. Applied externally, it’s believed to help acne, hemorrhoids, sunburn, yeast infection. If it helps only a fraction of what it’s proponents claim, it would be one of the most valuable food products on earth. It’s easy to incorporate into your life. I sprinkle it on salads, add to baked chicken for a tart, citrusy twist. Many add a tablespoon to cold water and honey for a refreshing drink that tastes like apple cider. Note: Use only organic, unfiltered ACV. Braggs brand is a good choice. For all the preceding reasons and because it’s oh so easy to enjoy a cup of chamomile tea, cheap too, chamomile comes in as a very good herbal remedy for anti aging. * CINNAMON is increasingly being found to help manage diabetes, kill off infections and aid digestion. More recent research suggests it may also help reduce blood pressure. Most people find cinnamon to be delicious. Make tea from bark, can combine with ginger root for a power-packed herbal treat. I like to sprinkle cinnamon on anything that it seems to go with. On pies, sweet potatoes, yams, in cookies on and on. My favorite - I toss a piece of cinnamon bark and/or sprinkle cinnamon into my morning pot of healthy coffee. I drink over a course of 2 hours or so while working on my computer. * COCOA (halleluiah!) is being seen as a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants are thought to slow down aging. Make sure you use dark chocolate products. I like going for a piece of dark chocolate before a workout. Lots of milk chocolate products are now being offered in the dark chocolate reincarnation. For example, you can get dark chocolate Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. My favorite is to make hot cocoa with good dark chocolate powder, sweetened with stevia and soymilk for a bit of creaming. * GRAPES and grape products are also being seen as containing lots of nutrients that enhance our health. In particular, black grapes contain reservation which is being seen as a powerful antioxidant and cancer fighter. Turmeric is thought to address ulcers, hardening of arteries, indigestion, liver problems, cholesterol, inflammation, cancer. Other than that, it’s totally worthless. Use supplemental capsules if you insist but I can find a way to incorporate curry into many delicious dishes. Of course you’ve heard of traditional curry chicken, or beef or vegetables.
