"Healthy nuggets of information to keep your motor humming."

Welcome to the 24th issue of our newsletter.

In this issue:

March, 2011

* Herb for acne, collard greens

* Vitamin D & exercise lessen Alzheimer risk

* US says too much fluoride causing splotchy teeth

* Tomato juice and osteoporosis

* Miracle herbal seed = chia

For many of us, we could just peer over the snow hills and almost see Spring a’coming. About time. Well, be ready for the warmer seasons by maxing your health as much as you can.

* Herb for acne, collard greens

Its vitamin A is like a medical topical that prevents acne. I like steaming greens, then quickly stir frying them with chopped garlic and combining with pasta. Add a little more extra virgin olive oil and maybe some grated cheese for a perfect dish.

* Vitamin D, exercise reduce Alzheimer risk

Been on the vitamin D bandwagon for over a year and just keep beating that drum. The Alzheimer’s Association recently conducted a study showing that exercise and vitamin D significantly reduces risk of developing Alzheimer’s.

* US Says Too Much Fluoride Causing Splotchy Teeth

Fluoride isn’t a water contaminant, at least not technically. But there has been a increasing attention against the over ingestion of fluoride over the last few decades.

Healthy Water addressed the issue of the many negative effects of over fluoridation. From splotchy teeth to cancer to allergies to brain disorders, fluoride has been blamed for many serious disorders.

The problem with fluoride is that it is part of many products in addition to the water supply. Also, filtration doesn’t remove it and boiling or distilling water only concentrates it.

Especially for children, do be careful about taking in too many products with fluoride.

FYI: The Aquasana water filter removes roughly half of the fluoride from water

* Tomato juice and osteoporosis

If you like tomato juice and have concerns about osteoporosis, you’re in luck. The lycopene in the tomato helps prevent osteoporosis.

Me? I’d rather drink bleach before drinking a glass of tomato juice. Yuck!

* Miracle herbal seed = chia

Hold the presses. In addition to coconut oil, chia seed is the best single product that I have recently gotten into to improve health and add variety to dishes. From weight loss to its nutritional stores, chia seed provides many tremendous health benefits.

There is not enough room for a discussion of chia seeds in this newsletter so Herbal Remedies World will soon have a page up on this miracle seed.

But don’t wait for our page to go up to start enjoying this amazing product. For a good page on chia seed benefits and recipes, click here

Enjoy, until we meet again in Spring.
